There are more than 2million people in Nigeria living with HIV, and two-third of these total people do not know that they are HIV infected. could you be one of them?

=> In the year 2005, an estimated 240,000 children ages 0-14 were diagonised with HIV/AIDS

=> Youth aged 15 and over living with HIV is estimated to 1.6 million
=> An estimated 220,000 death due to AIDS
=> The presence of a sexually transmitted disease(STD) greatly increase a liklihood of acquiring or transmitting HIV

WHAT IS HIV TEST?
The HIV test detects whether or not you have been exposed to the HIV virus, there are several kind of test namely blood test, urine test and an oral(mouth) test, only a small amount of blood is needed for the blood test.
HIV test can take a few days to 2weeks for results or with rapid HIV tests you can get results in about 20minute.

You have the power to help stop the spread of HIV
=> BE SAFE, the best way to prevent HIV is to abstain from having sex, if you do have sex, use a new latex condom everytime, do not share needles or syringes
=> TALK ABOUT IT, talk about sex and HIV with your partner and peers, ask classmates about HIV testing,find out when partners or potential partner were last tested for HIV and what their status was, be clear that you will be having safer sex……or none at all
=> TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR, if you are seually active, you should get tested for HIV.

KNOW YOUR STATUS, GET TESTED FOR HIV
If you don’t know if you are infected with HIV, you could be spreading it to others , if you are HIV-positive, you must take steps to prevent passing your HIV infection to another person.
If you find out that you have HIV, it does not mean that you are going to get sick and die, while there is no cure for HIV, new drugs are avialable that can help you stay healthy and decrease the amount of HIV virus in your body.

The programme is organized in higher institution of learning in conjunction with the student union body and plux! 9ja entertainment, a reputable event organizer, the student union body moblize there members and also provide venue for the programme while plux! 9ja entertainment takes charge of the entertainment aspect such as the disc jocker, musician and comedian
and ACT RIGHT INITIATIVES distribute free journals and condoms and also enlighten the student on 100% condom uses,
HIV/AIDS SUPPORT PROGRAMME
In 2005, an estimated 930,000 children aged 0-17 are orphan due to HIV/AIDS(2006 report on the global Aids epidemic..UNAIDS)
We focus our HIV/AIDS support programme on orphans and other children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS, we ensure access to essential services such as education, health care and others amenities.
